James & Ruth Wood
Jim & Ruth met at Warsaw, Indiana in 1981. Jim had just been discharged from the US Navy and was taking some classes at Grace College. Ruth was working for Grace College's Food Services Department. James & Ruth were married at Pleasant View Bible Church, October 1, 1983. They purchased a home and Jim continued to work at R.R. Donnelley & Sons until April, 1985, when the company transferred them to the Chicago area. Benjamin was born in October of that year. The Wood family started attending Plano Bible Church soon after. Christina was born in March, 1990 and Stephen in December, 1991.
In PBC's Missions Conference in 1995 they both felt that the Lord had more for them to do in missions. They started a year long search for what the Lord would have them do. In February, 1996 they visited Missionary TECH Team in Longview, Texas. They applied to the mission and were accepted in July. After three years of raising support they moved to Longview in February of 1999 and Jim began serving as Computer Services Manager.
James and Ruth have been serving at TECH for eleven years. Their experiences here have served to encourage them to continue. They enjoy the day-to-day work at Missionary TECH Team but very much enjoy telling others or their work. James and Ruth attend college mission conferences each year. What a joy to see the interest in missions in young people. Every one at TECH tries to take advantage of each opportunity to visit and share in churches and small groups. James enjoys working with the other men in Computer Services. It has been exciting to watch Computer Services grow. It is even more exciting to look down the road and see some of the possibilities. The whole family gets involved with the ministry at TECH. Ruth comes into the office once or twice a week to use her secretarial skills. Christina and Stephen have also come into the office to help out when there is something for them to do.

Enjoys: cooking, crafts, camping, plays the piano and treasures all her friends.
Stephen - December 17, 1991 Senior
Enjoys: his big brother, electronics, anything out doors, has built a lawn service. Taking dual credit courses now and next year will be full time student at LeTourneau University |
